Middletown community center gets $278,000

MIDDLETOWN – U.S. Rep. Patrick J. Kennedy on Monday announced $278,000 in federal funding for the new Child & Family Community Center, set to open May 11.
The $7.5 million, 38,736-square-foot headquarters will allow for the local nonprofit to consolidate its offices. It now has two offices in Middletown, as well as Newport and Providence offices. (READ MORE)
“In these tough economic times, the need to ensure such valuable services to the children and families of Rhode Island is more apparent than ever,” Kennedy, a Democrat, said in a statement. “Child & Family … works tirelessly to end the disparity between poverty and future success, by providing children with essential services and new hope.”
Designed by Vision 3 Architects, the building is being built by E.W. Burman.
