PROVIDENCE – Software company MojoTech LLC has pulled a Boston-based technology director of an international consulting firm to lead the company as CEO.
Seth Mirick, formerly the managing director of Seattle-based business and technology consulting firm Slalom, will lead Providence-based MojoTech following the departure of CEO Nick Kishfy, who left the company earlier this year.
Slalom has offices in nine other countries across North America, South America, Europe, Oceania and Asia, with Mirick's job based in the company's Boston location.
MojoTech, founded in 2008 by Kishfy, builds custom websites and mobile apps for high-growth and Fortune 500 companies.
In an announcement, MojoTech said Mirick has "over 25 years of experience establishing and directing successful technology consulting teams and businesses," and called him "a visionary leader with a proven track record of building innovative digital engineering teams to drive growth and business results."
During his 11 years at Slalom, Mirick helped to launch a new office space and improve account management and sales capabilities, according to MojoTech, having previously held roles in business strategy and technology. Mirick began his career as a developer and software architect, and later rose to leadership roles at Boston-based software company Sapient and SapientNitro.
"I am incredibly excited to join MojoTech and be a part of its next chapter,” Mirick said in a statement. “I am committed to driving meaningful impact across our clients, team and local communities, and I am certain that with our talented engineers, designers and product managers, we can accelerate innovation and unlock real business value for our clients."
Laurens Goff, a MojoTech board member and founding partner of Stone-Goff Partners, with locations in Boston and New York City, said in a statement that the company is "proud to support Seth as he propels MojoTech into its next phase of growth and success.
“Under his leadership, we have absolute confidence that the company will continue to deliver exceptional value to its clients, drive innovation and foster a thriving culture of excellence across the entire organization," Goff added.
MojoTech has experienced the ups and downs of industry trends in recent years, with the company reporting a
growing inventory volume and planned big-ticket purchases to Providence Business News in 2018. But the business reportedly enacted
layoffs in 2023, amid massive workforce cuts in the broader tech industry. MojoTech declined an interview at that time.
The company did not provide details on the departure of former CEO and founder Nick Kishfy but confirmed that he was the last person to lead the company prior to Mirick's hiring.
According to Kishfy's LinkedIn page, he began working as an adviser and capital partner at Providence-based Run Until Tackled LLC about nine months ago.
The company, which describes itself on LinkedIn as serving the technology, information and internet industry, lists its other employee as Chris Shoemaker, who served as chief technology officer and partner at MojoTech from 2009 through April 2024.
