PROVIDENCE – Andrew Tisdale, formerly of Morgan Stanley, has joined Providence Equity Partners Inc. as a managing director in its London office, the equity firm said today. Tisdale will be involved with existing portfolio companies and with developing new investments for the firm in Europe and around the world.

Before joining Providence Equity, Tisdale had been co-global head of the media and communications group at Morgan Stanley, and a member of the company’s Management Committee for Investment Banking. He had served in a variety of positions since joining the company in 1990, advising on media and communications transactions in Europe, North and South America, the Middle East and Africa.
In recent years, he had worked on media and communication-related transactions for Morgan Stanley clients including Altimo, Apple Computer, Bertelsmann, Cablevision, Central European Media, Comcast, Cox Communications, Deutsche Telekom, Fininvest, the Kingdom of Sweden, Liberty Global, MBC, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, RTL, the Republic of South Africa, Vivendi and Yandex.
