Rhode Island drivers are ranked the second-most confrontational in the U.S., according to a new Forbes Advisor report. Rhode Island scored 98.46, with 10.5% of the drivers surveyed claiming they were forced off the road, 63.5% were blocked from changing lanes, 62.5% claimed they were cut off on purpose and 96.5% said they were yelled at, insulted or threatened.

Fox Sports Radio’s Colin Cowherd, along with his wife, Anne, on Aug. 10 purchased the 1900-era 5,168-square-foot shingle-style home known as “Highland Lodge” at 2 Ninigret Ave. in Westerly for $8.5 million. The sale is the highest in the state so far this year.

The former Saint Catherine’s Cathedral church property and the former Saint Francis of Assisi Church, both on Post Road in Warwick, were recently sold for a total of $2.6 million, according to MG Commercial Real Estate, which represented the seller – the Roman Catholic Diocese of Providence.

4. R.I. attorney admits to Ponzi scheme costing clients $250K.

Peter P.D. Leach, a Rhode Island-based personal injury attorney, admitted in federal court to defrauding clients by misappropriating more than $500,000 in client settlement funds, resulting in losses to clients of more than $250,000, and that he took evasive steps to conceal his ill-gotten gains from the IRS while failing to pay more than $250,000 in taxes.

5. Vacant land on Main Road in Tiverton sells for $1.23M.

An 8-acre vacant property located at 3407 Main Road on Route 77 in Tiverton, between Seadrift Farm and the Tiverton Town Farm baseball and recreation grounds, was recently sold for $1.23 million. It was the most expensive land sale in the community since 2016, and the town’s second-highest land sale ever recorded.
