PROVIDENCE – Marie D. Myers, the director of enrollment management for Massachusetts-based Concord Academy, has been named the new head of school for Sophia Academy.
The independent all-girls middle school says Myers will start her new role on July 1. She succeeds Maura Farrell, who is leaving Sophia Academy after five years.

Joy E. Fox, Sophia Academy board chair and former congressional candidate, said in her letter to the community that Myers served multiple roles at Concord Academy, including associate director of college counseling. Myers also served as director of multicultural affairs and assistant director of college counseling at Dana Hall School in Wellesley, Mass., Fox said.
In a statement, Myers said educators have the invaluable opportunity to provide young people with an “environment that honors their entire self, pushes them to be great, teaches them not only the academic lessons we feel they must learn but also how to be successful and responsible global citizens.”
