Nadelson joins University Gastroenterology

PROVIDENCE – Dr. Jeffrey D. Nadelson, an inflammatory bowel disease specialist, joined University Gastroenterology Aug. 1.

Nadelson is fellowship-trained in gastroenterology, hepatology and transplant hepatology.  He specializes in the treatment of inflammatory bowel disease, having completed additional course work in the field to prepare for this position.

Nadelson completed his gastroenterology, hepatology and transplant hepatology training at the University of Tennessee Health Sciences Center. Before that, he completed an Internal Medicine Residency at the Roger Williams Medical Center, where he first became familiar with University Gastroenterology.

Nadelson said he’s excited to join the forward-thinking practice and to return to treating the Rhode Island community.

“After living in Providence and seeing firsthand the high level of care provided by UGI, I feel very proud and humbled to have this opportunity and to give back to the community,” he said.

“We are thrilled to welcome Jeff to the UGI family,” said Dr. Thomas E. Sepe, University Gastroenterology president. “I have worked with him dating back to his residency at Roger Williams and UGI is fortunate to have him join our team. He is an outstanding young physician who takes great care of patients.”

The West River office in Providence will be Nadelson’s primary location, and he will be covering both The Miriam and Rhode Island hospitals.

Nadelson is a native of Andover, Mass., and currently lives in East Greenwich with his wife and their two sons.
