EAST PROVIDENCE – Pharma Resource, the clinical research division of Infusion Resource, is now accepting patients for a series of noncancer clinical trials for drug treatments for a number of illnesses, including gout, kidney stones, type II diabetes, H1N1 influenza, Lupus, iron deficiency, overactive bladder, colitis, and Crohn’s disease, according to Kelly A. Lambrese, vice president of clinical research.
Infusion Resource, a privately held company begun in 2008, specializes in outpatient infusion therapy, through which drugs are administered intravenously. Much of the previous work of Pharma Resource has centered on cancer research, such as oncology trials for breast cancer, melanoma and lung cancer.
The clinical research studies are designed to answer specific questions about new therapies to determine whether the new drugs or treatments are safe and effective, according to Lambrese. •
