New England Tech to host robotics competition

WARWICK – The New England Institute of Technology will host the For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology Tech Challenge, a statewide annual high school robotics competition, on Feb. 5.
The FIRST Tech Challenge will be held at the New England Tech Center for Automotive Technology at 101 Access Road, Warwick, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
“The goal is to engage students in order to develop problem solving, critical thinking and innovative reasoning skills using custom-designed robots,” the school said in a news release.
Teams of up to 10 students will design, build and program their robots to compete against other teams.
Last year, more than 33 local high schools competed for the chance to travel to the world championship.
