Work is scheduled to begin this month on an 8,800-square-foot facility on Route 116 in Smithfield that will serve as the new headquarters for the Special Olympics Rhode Island. The brick, stone and glass structure will include a suite of administrative offices, a boardroom and plenty of storage space. The eight-member staff is expected to move in early next fall. /
