
NEWPORT – A single-family home in the Ocean Lawn enclave recently sold for $8.1 million, marking one of the highest residential sales in Rhode Island so far in 2026, according to Mott & Chace Sotheby’s International Realty.
The sale is the second-highest residential sale in Newport in 2026 so far and it is the third-highest residential sale statewide so far this year, according to Mott & Chace, citing records from the Rhode Island Statewide Multiple Listing Service.

The property at 10 Ocean Lawn Lane includes eight bedrooms and 10 bathrooms and contains more than 12,000 square feet of living space.
The same home sold last year for $7.9 million, according to Mott & Chace.
The stone-and-shingle home was completed in 2017 and is located within the private Ocean Lawn enclave, a subdivision that was formerly part of the Firestone Estate. The property sits on approximately 2.82 acres near the Cliff Walk, Bellevue Avenue and downtown Newport.
The home includes multiple living areas, a chef’s kitchen and amenities such as a home theater, gym and game room, according to the Mott & Chace. The property also includes a bluestone patio, heated pool and hot tub.
According to the Newport property assessor’s database, the property was assessed in fiscal year 2025 at approximately $7.13 million, including about $2.03 million for the land and about $5.04 million for the building.
Joseph Costa of Mott & Chace represented the sellers in the transaction. Kara Malkovich and Marie Samuels of Lila Delman Compass represented the buyers.
A copy of the deed documenting the sale was not immediately available through the Newport land records database. The property was previously owned by the McAllister Living Trust, which is based in Rehoboth, Mass., according to Newport’s online property tax evaluation database.
