NEW BEDFORD – Nameplates For Industry Corp., the high-performance graphic-solutions company better known as NFI, has announced a new in-house Design Studio to craft custom industrial labels and other graphics for NFI clients.
The NFI Design Studio works with clients from the earliest stages of product development, focusing on precision, functionality and engineering considerations, such as a product’s environment and material choices for the greatest durability. By working on a new product design from “design to delivery,” NFI can help clients design custom labels, nameplates, faceplates, membrane switches or other graphic elements that meet industry specifications and printing parameters.

To launch the new Design Studio team, NFI tapped its existing pool of engineering-based designers, including Steve Moniz, who most recently served as the company’s art director and now heads the Design Studio as director.
“We are excited to offer this to our clients, and to help them understand that rather than thinking of labels or nameplates [as] an afterthought, with careful attention and consideration they can help to play a big role in the overall branding of a product … based in part on appearance,” said Moniz.
The Design Studio can create new label designs or update existing product designs to meet industry standards including MIL-SPEC, UL, CSA, CE and RU certification as well as the U.S. State Department’s International Traffic in Arms regulations, according to a July 12 release announcing the studio’s launch.
“The Design Studio is a wonderful resource for design and engineering for our clients,” said Renaud Megard, president and CEO of NFI. “We look forward to demonstrating the innovative graphic solutions our Design Studio can offer.”
NFI Corp. is based in New Bedford and specializes in screen printing, digital printing and flexographic printing on plastic materials for the medical, manufacturing, military, technology, transportation and other industries.
