Off-the-mark commentary, misinformed headline

To the editor:
With regard to the opinion piece (“Pure capitalism hurts society,” March 2) by Ted Almon, I would like to point out that it is not capitalism that Mr. Almon describes, it is totalitarianism.
I believe opinions should be rendered upon facts, which I submit this opinion was not. However, this is not my major concern.
I am more concerned about the headline. It rings boldly, as if it were a verifiable statement of fact, thus delivering an immediate false impression.
It is my opinion that a truthful and simple correction would have been to title the article: “Pure Totalitarianism Hurts Society.” Let’s face it, this article smacks of socialism, big time. So, if you don’t care for that title, how about “Bold Headlines of Misinformation Hurts Society.” That works for me!
