Rhode Island Department of Health will be hosting an open forum for all people with disabilities and their families on Friday, July 25th, 2014, from 1:30 – 3:30 PM, at the South Providence Library’s Community Room, 441 Prairie Avenue, Providence, RI.
The mission of RI Department of Health is to ensure family-centered, community based systems of services for children and youth with special healthcare needs through infrastructure building, training and technical assistance, and collaboration with families, other state agencies, heath plans, and community agencies.

These forums are an opportunity for ALL people with disabilities and their families to speak out and voice their concerns. There will be a panel of representatives present from several state agencies and community-based organizations to listen to the participants. These forums are being held throughout the state during the week of July 21st – 25th, as part of the 24th year anniversary celebration of the signing of the Americans with Disabilities Act.

Sign language and Spanish interpreters and real-time captioning will be used at the site and a transcript will be compiled of the testimony. Assistive listening systems will be available upon request at the hearing. Requests for other language interpreting should be made to 462-2130 at least 3 business days in advance.
