OSJL purchases vacant Walmart
store in Woonsocket for $600K

WOONSOCKET – Ocean State Job Lot has purchased a vacant Walmart store and surrounding acreage in Woonsocket, for $600,000.

The purpose for the site at 1919 Diamond Hill Road is still being evaluated by the company, according to its spokesman. Ocean State Job Lot already has two retail stores in Woonsocket. The new acquisition has 121,000 square feet and sits on nearly 19 acres.

The purchase price is just 15 percent of the assessed value of $3.98 million, according to the 2016 valuations on the city of Woonsocket website.

The sale was recorded on Oct. 26, according to the city registrar of deeds site.
