BARRINGTON – A waterfront home on Hampden Street has sold for $2.07 million, according to Mott & Chace Sotheby’s International Realty, which represented both sides of the transaction.
The 5 Hampden St. property is the second-highest sale on record in Barrington’s Hampden Meadows neighborhood, according to Mott & Chace, citing data from the Rhode Island Statewide Multiple Listing Service.

Built in 2019, the single-family home contains 4,142 square feet of living space, with four bedrooms and four bathrooms, including three full bathrooms and one half-bath. The 0.45-acre property is located along the Palmer River and includes a private boat launch and seawall.
The home features custom millwork, wainscoting, bespoke doors and a concealed bookcase entrance, according to Mott & Chace. The kitchen has Wolf appliances, white cabinetry, granite countertops and a quartz island opening into the dining room and great room. A double-sided gas fireplace connects the family room to the adjoining living spaces.
The primary suite includes a Juliet balcony, custom walk-in closet and bathroom with a double vanity, soaking tub and glass-enclosed shower. Two additional bedrooms share a Jack-and-Jill bathroom, Mott & Chace said, while a separate guest or au pair suite provides an additional bedroom and bathroom arrangement.
The property has a deck and hot tub overlooking the river, along with landscaped grounds, stone walls and exterior lighting, the real estate firm said. Other features include a whole-house generator, hydro-air heating, radiant heat, water filtration and central air conditioning. The home has an attached two-car garage and eight total parking spaces, the firm said.
According to the Barrington property assessor’s database, the property had a 2026 total assessment of $1.8 million, consisting of $676,000 for the land, $1.12 million for the building and $1,000 for an outbuilding.
Michael J. Sweeney, founder of The Sweeney Advisory at Mott & Chace, represented the sellers, while Midge Berkery, also of Mott & Chace, represented the buyers, according to the brokerage.
According to the warranty deed, a public record of the sale, the property was sold by Ronald Davids and Nancy Davids of Bonita Springs, Fla., and it was purchased by Bret Alexander and Katlyn Alexander of Dallas.
