In celebration of the grand opening of its sixth store in Rhode Island – at 1000 Bald Hill Road, Warwick – Panera Bread has donated $1,875 raised at two preview parties to its Operation Dough-Nation partner, Children’s Friend & Service in Providence.
Operation Dough-Nation is a program committed to ensuring that every purchase at Panera Bread feeds back into the community. Cash donations made in each bakery-cafÉ by customers are matched on a semi-annual basis by Panera Bread and donated to local organizations. Children’s Friend is a nonprofit organization that promotes the well-being and healthy development of vulnerable children across the state by providing flexible, effective and culturally relevant services that support and strengthen families and communities.
Tom Houllahan, manager of Panera Bread in Warwick, presented the donation to Doris Stearn Donovan, president of the Children’s Friend board, at a recent ceremony.
