Paramount to develop combat-control system

MIDDLETOWN – Paramount Solutions Inc. has been awarded $1.6 million to develop an advanced combat-control system for Navy submarines.
The new model will integrate and adapt sensors, information systems, platforms and weapons systems into a distributed network. The goal is to avoid both bottlenecks and information overload, Paramount said, providing the right information, at the right time, in the right amount.
“We are extremely proud to have been chosen to develop and coordinate the [Combat Control for Distributed Netted Systems] program with both NavSea in Washington, D.C., and the Naval Undersea Warfare Center in Newport,” Amrita Dutta-Gupta, the company’s chief financial officer, said in a statement last week.
The program is designed to help to fully integrate the command platform and its sensor and weapons systems with that of the battle group, Dutta-Gupta said. This will, in turn, provide the fleet with the latest technology available while also providing enhanced security to those inside its walls.
