Passenger traffic increases at T.F. Green in April

PROVIDENCE – Passenger traffic at T.F. Green Airport in April increased seven-tenths of a percentage point to 307,668 passengers, the R.I. Airport Corp. reported Thursday.

Year to date, passenger traffic declined 1.5 percent to 1,076,246. Passenger traffic increased in January, but declined in February and March, only to climb again in April.
Southwest Airlines again had the largest market share in April at 48.8 percent, followed by U.S. Airways with 23.1 percent, Delta Airlines with 12 percent, JetBlue Airways with 8 percent, United Airlines with 7.7 percent and charter flights with 0.4 percent.
Among the large carriers, JetBlue saw the greatest increase in passengers in April at 9.6 percent to 24,616. U.S. Airways had the greatest decline at 8.8 percent to 71,169.
United Airlines and Southwest Airlines also reported passenger increases. United Airlines reported a 5.7 percent increase to 23,361, and Southwest Airlines pounds. Year-to-date, it fell 1.6 percent to 7.9 million pounds.
