Pawtucket Foundation announces 2019 honorees

PAWTUCKET – The Pawtucket Foundation has announced the honorees of its 2019 Awards Celebration that is scheduled for May 7.

The Person of the Year award will be given Dan Sullivan Jr., CEO of Collette, for his contribution and enhancement of the quality of economic and community life in Pawtucket, according to the foundation, including bringing jobs and spearheading revitalization projects.

The foundation selected Rosalie DeRosa, president of North East Knitting Inc., for the 2019 Heritage Award. The award recognizes an “outstanding long-term commitment to the City of Pawtucket and its residents.” North East Knitting was founded in 1986, according to the company’s website.

The foundation also awarded Linda Dewing the Special Distinction Honor in 2019 for her help to revitalize downtown Pawtucket by means of connecting people and places. The foundation said, “Her leadership and dedication is carried forward in her professional life, volunteer efforts, residency and as an artist. Dewing is a broker associate at Places & Spaces Realty. Dewing is also a member of the Pawtucket Foundation board of directors.

The event honoring this year’s awardees will be hosted at 49 N Union St., Pawtucket, on May 7. Guests are required to RSVP by April 30. Tickets may be purchased online.
