MIDDLETOWN – People’s Credit Union joined an effort to clean up beaches earlier this month with Clean Ocean Access and Save The Bay.
The Middletown-based credit union had 18 people join a team to clean up Jacob’s Point in Warren and 11 more to clean the Audubon Society of Rhode Island Environmental Education Center in Bristol.

“People’s is committed to enhancing the communities that they serve and many of the branch locations are near Rhode Island’s beautiful beaches,” according to the credit union. “One of the advantages of living in the Ocean State is the beaches. These beaches are home to diverse wildlife as well as being a place where friends and family gather to enjoy the sun, sand and surf.”
The beach cleanup effort marks the third of four team events the credit union participates in throughout the year. The others include the Potters League, Autism Project Imagine and the upcoming Light the Night Walk in Providence.
