Perspective Communications wins $1.9million NUWC pact

Perspective Communications has been awarded a five-year, $1.9 million
contract by the Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUWC) Division Newport to
provide NUWC with a wide range of audio/video design simulation
services.
The contract is expected to mean new jobs for the Middletown company.
“This contract is a major milestone for Perspective Communications,”
said John Robitaille, the company’s founder.
Under terms of the contract, Perspective will provide a number of
services to meet NUWC’s creative design and production needs, including
computer-generated animation, audio and video production, the
development of presentation and training materials and more. In
addition, Perspective will support the military’s Synthetic Environment
Tactical Initiative by developing projects for NUWC using cutting-edge
technologies such as distributed interactive simulation, high level
architecture and other computer-based modeling techniques.
As a result of the NUWC contract, Perspective will be adding members
to its creative and production teams, expanding its studio in Middletown
and investing in new technologies.
“This contract with NUWC will keep Perspective on the cutting-edge of
audio/video production technology and essentially allow us to take our
business to the next level.”
For the contract, Perspective has partnered with Dynamic Systems of
Alexandria, Virginia, to provide technical consulting services and
engineering systems development, and Pineapple Studios, of Middletown,
to provide high-end 3D graphics and animation.
NUWC’s Division Newport provides the Naval Undersea Warfare Center
with support for research, development, test, evaluation, engineering
and fleet support for submarine autonomous underwater systems and
offensive and defensive weapons systems associated with undersea
warfare.
Perspective Communications has produced corporate videos, training
programs and communications materials for a wide range of companies,
including; Textron, Kellogg’s The Stanley Works, Titleist and Footjoy
Worldwide, Fleet Bank, Collette Tours, Ernst & Young, IBM and Allendale
Insurance.
