PROVIDENCE – Veteran campaign manager Ian Lang and speechwriter Catherine Taylor have joined forces to launch Lang Taylor, a Providence-based public affairs and political consulting firm.
The firm will focus on providing strategic development, speechwriting and other communications services to businesses and nonprofits, they said, as well as on all aspects of political campaigns.
“Whether you are a political candidate or a community leader, a nonprofit or a business, getting your message and ideas heard in the media is one of the biggest challenges you face,” Lang said. “With our experience … we are well positioned to help our clients break through.”
This will be the pair’s fourth collaboration. Lang was campaign manager and Taylor was speechwriter for Lincoln D. Chafee’s 2006 U.S. Senate reelection campaign. This will be the pair’s fourth collaboration. Lang was campaign manager and Taylor was speechwriter for Lincoln D. Chafee’s 2006 U.S. Senate re-election campaign. They also worked together on Christy Ferguson’s Congressional campaign in 2002 and on Chafee’s Providence staff in 2001.
Lang also has worked in federal and state government, including service as chief of staff at the Mass. Department of Public Health, and in organizational development, helping launch the child and family advocacy group First Focus.
Taylor served Chafee and his father, the late Sen. John H. Chafee, for 20 years. She also has served on nonprofit boards and committees and is experienced in fundraising, financial planning and as a writer for various publications,
Their clients at Lang Taylor include Lincoln Chafee and The Matthews Castor ’07 Campaign for county commissioner in Montgomery County, Pa.
