The Sargent Rehabilitation Center recently held its fifth annual prom dance for the Day School Program.
The center, which provides services for disabled individuals, holds the event in order to allow students to partake in activity that fully developed students may attend.
Community members provided a variety of resources to make the prom possible. The Rotary Club of East Greenwich helped offset the costs of the event, while Vic Michaels Sound donated DJ services for the evening. Stop & Shop on Bald Hill Road in Warwick, Scrumptious Bakery of East Greenwich, Dunkin’ Donuts on Main Street in East Greenwich and Munroe Dairy in East Providence all donated food and beverages.
Students from the upper school level attended the country-western themed prom along with dates, friends and family. The prom included music, dancing, photos and refreshments.
The center provides medical rehabilitation and education services for children and adults, including a pediatric program for children with autism and other neurologic disorders; a neuro-rehabilitation program for adolescents and adults; and a consultant group for training services to professionals and schools. •
