PROVIDENCE – Providence has declared a parking ban beginning at 12:01 a.m. Tuesday due to the upcoming snowstorm expected to begin later Monday afternoon.
The city has also canceled school and after-school activities for Providence Public Schools Tuesday.

Snow accumulations of 3 to 5 inches are expected in the state between 7 p.m. Monday and 1 p.m. Tuesday, with the entire state and southeastern Massachusetts under a winter weather advisory, according to the National Weather Service as of 1:30 p.m. Monday. Winds may gust as high as 40 miles per hour.
The evening and morning commutes are expected to be impacted.
