WOONSOCKET – Promoting from within, the Woonsocket YMCA has named Kristin Quinn the next executive director of the nonprofit community and youth-development group.
The announcement, which came in mid-December, outlined her position as effective Jan. 1. Quinn succeeds Diane Martin, who served in the position for more than a decade.
“I am excited about what this new opportunity will bring, not only for myself but for the members at the Woonsocket YMCA,” Quinn said in a statement. “I will work diligently to create an environment where families feel welcomed and driven to engage in our healthy living programs, and I strive to foster a collaborative environment where staff members can share ideas that can ultimately improve the services our members receive.”
A Cumberland resident, Quinn previously served as the operations director for the Woonsocket YMCA, and prior to that as the health and wellness director for the Family YMCA in Pawtucket. In her new position, Quinn will be responsible for the promotion of health and wellness among members, youth development and social responsibility programming, as well as collaboration with local community organizations.
With a bachelor’s degree in elementary special education from Providence College, Quinn holds personal trainer, nutritionist and fitness instructor certifications.
