PROVIDENCE – The 2018 Rhode Island Business Plan Competition will begin on Sept. 14, the organization announced Monday.

The date marks the first of six free public events leading up to the competition’s submission deadline in April.

Prizes for 2018 are expected to be worth more than $200,000 collectively.

The event on Sept. 14 will be held from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at Tech Collective, 166 Valley St., Building 3, in Providence. The public is welcome, but pre-registration is required.

All applicants for the competition will be awarded free co-working space, including access to meeting rooms.
