R.I. Infrastructure Bank to lend $1.4M for Pawtucket LED, stormwater upgrades

PROVIDENCE – Rhode Island Infrastructure Bank will provide $1.4 million in financing to Pawtucket for LED streetlight conversions and stormwater improvements, according to a news release.

The below-market interest-rate loan includes $1 million to convert 6,000 city streetlights to LED lights, funded through the bank’s Efficient Building Fund. There is also $350,000 for a stormwater mitigation project next to the planned Pawtucket-Central Falls Train Station through the Clean Water State Revolving Fund.

The projects are intended to save Pawtucket money in energy costs and mitigate water pollution.
