
PROVIDENCE – The December unemployment rate of 4.3% in Rhode Island was the second highest in New England behind Massachusetts but below the national rate of 4.4%, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. Across the nation, unemployment rates were higher in December in six states and stable in 44 states and Washington, D.C.
