R.I. Office of the Auditor General gets top-grade peer review

PROVIDENCE – The Office of the Auditor General of Rhode Island received the most favorable review, called an “unqualified opinion,” on its audit quality and quality control measures in a recent peer-review process, the office announced Wednesday.

The review was conducted by out-of-state auditors assembled by the National State Auditors Association. The team conducted the review in June.

A peer review is required once every three years for audit organizations performing audits in accordance with government auditing standards.

The OAG has “consistently received unqualified opinions on its quality control measures and audit quality since its inception in 1974,” the organization said.
