PAWTUCKET – Rhode Island FC is expected to create more than 30 full-time jobs by the end of 2023 just before the team takes the pitch for the first time, the club announced Friday.
Additionally, the club has signed a lease securing space downtown that will serve as Rhode Island FC’s official headquarters. Rhode Island FC says the team’s headquarters will be housed inside the Benjamin C. Chester Building at 175 Main St. – owned by pet store distributor Pet Food Experts. The team’s headquarters will be located about a half mile from where the Tidewater Landing stadium, Rhode Island FC’s home pitch, will be.

Rhode Island FC President Brett Luy, who last month was brought aboard to lead the club, said Friday in a statement that the club’s commitment to building a winning team in the heart of the city starts by establishing the team’s headquarters.
“The support from Rhode Islanders across the state for our team continues to be overwhelming, and we are well positioned to begin building the organization,” Luy said. “We’ll start hiring early next year and look forward to creating 30-plus new jobs in Pawtucket over the next 12 months as we prepare for our inaugural [United Soccer League] season.”
Just before Thanksgiving, Rhode Island FC had secured in a single week approximately 2,500 season ticket deposits for the team’s inaugural season, setting a USL first-week record in the process.
