HEALTHY BOOST: Rhode Island Medical Imaging Inc. recently worked with Rhode Island College to create the Rhode Island Medical Imaging Endowed Scholarship. The Warwick-based diagnostic imaging organization provided the college with $25,000 to finance the scholarship program. The scholarship will distribute a $2,000 award each fall semester to a RIC student majoring in medical imaging. Emily Vargas, a senior in the Lifespan School of Medical Imaging, was recently named the inaugural scholarship award winner on Nov. 3. Rhode Island Medical Imaging helps with several local organizations through various initiatives. In November 2020, Rhode Island Medical Imaging donated $3,500 to the Rhode Island chapter of the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer program. In October of that year, the organization made a $10,000 in-kind donation to the R.I. Department of Health’s Women’s Cancer Screening Program. Pictured, from left, are Frank D.
