RI Bio creates nonprofit foundation

PROVIDENCE – RI Bio has announced the launch of a new nonprofit foundation created to support the trade group’s work in life sciences.

According to a statement from RI Bio, the RI Bio Foundation is meant to support the organization’s impact both on the life sciences industry and on patients, to increase industry investment in the Ocean State and to generate a steady source of income to further the group’s mission.

“Our nonprofit foundation will concentrate on fundraising and enabling tax-deductible contributions, an important incentive to attract corporate, foundation and individual charitable contributions, said Carol Malysz, RI Bio’s executive director. “Through the RI Bio Foundation, philanthropists can invest in programming and innovation that can change the world and transform lives, as we grow the life sciences ecosystem to improve patient health, protect our climate and nourish humanity.”
