Robert A. DiMuccio

Rhode Island-born and bred, Robert A. DiMuccio has never forgotten his roots or the people who’ve helped him achieve so much business success.

His commitment to his staff, customers and the Rhode Island community has never wavered since joining Amica Mutual Insurance Co. in 1991. That clarity of purpose has helped turn the Lincoln-based insurer into a national leader.

The company is regularly recognized by PBN as one of the state’s best places to work. And his employees, who number more than 1,700 in the Ocean State, happily return the favor. Amica annually ranks among its industry’s best in customer satisfaction.

A Providence College graduate, DiMuccio remains deeply connected to the state and growth of the local economy. He’s served as board president of the Rhode Island Public Expenditure Council. And he’s joined the boards of the Greater Providence Chamber of Commerce, The Washington Trust Co. and Rhode Island School of Design.

When the Community College of Rhode Island opened a pantry for “food insecure” students in 2019, DiMuccio was one of two donors who helped make it happen.

So it was no surprise that when the COVID-19 pandemic hit in 2020, DiMuccio knew what he and his company needed to focus on.

The company offered auto premium refund programs for cash-strapped customers, while seamlessly adjusting its large workforce to a work-from-home model.

“The safety of our employees,” he told PBN in 2020, “will always come first.”
