The 21st annual CVS Caremark Downtown 5K attracted world class runners to Providence on Sept. 19 for what has become Rhode Island’s largest road race. Race day actually comprised 23 different races involving more than 10,000
participants, including 21 races for children; the main 5K event, which attracted about 7,000 runners and walkers, and a 3K run for student athletes. Robert Cheseret won the Downtown 5K and the USATF Men’s 5K title. Molly Huddle
