Salgi Esophageal Cancer Research Foundation rated a top nonprofit

EAST GREENWICH – The Salgi Esophageal Cancer Research Foundation has been named a 2019 top-rated nonprofit by GreatNonprofits, an online group that allows users to review charities and nonprofits.

Its top ratings are based on ratings and reviews.

“Salgi is a charity dedicated to the cure of a horrible disease. The group promotes awareness in an informative and professional manner. Salgi is run by dedicated and caring people,” one supporter’s post read.

The Salgi Esophageal Cancer Research Foundation works to raise awareness and fund research toward early detection methods and a cure for esophageal cancer.

Founded about seven years ago, it awarded esophageal cancer grants in 2015 and 2018, and has hosted events across the country. Chapters have since formed in Missouri, Colorado and New York.
