SBA accepting 2019 Small Business Week Awards nominations

THE U.S. SMALL BUSINESS Administration is now accepting nominations for the 2019 Small Business Week Awards.

PROVIDENCE – The U.S. Small Business Administration is accepting nominations for the 2019 National Small Business Week Awards, the SBA announced Monday.

Nominations are due on Jan. 9 by 3 p.m., and all submissions must be hand delivered to mailed to the nearest SBA office.

The Rhode Island District office is located at 380 Westminster St., Suite 511, Providence, Rhode Island, 02903.

There are nine Rhode Island District awards, as well as the potential for national award nomination, including Small Business Person of the Year and Small Business Exporter for the Year.

The following awards will be awarded in the Rhode Island district:

  • Jeffrey Butland Family Owned Small Business
  • Minority-Owned Small Business of the Year
  • Veteran-Owned Small Business of the Year
  • Woman-Owned Small Business of the Year
  • Homebased Small Business of the Year
  • Microenterprise of the Year
  • Young Entrepreneur of the Year
  • Small Business Manufacturer of the Year
  • Financial Services Champion

“This is a great opportunity to recognize those small businesses that have contributed significantly to their local communities, developed creative products or made advances with innovative technologies,” SBA Administrator Linda McMahon said in a statement. “A National Small Business Week award is one of the nation’s highest honors for small business achievement.”
