SEED to celebrate 35 years of business

THE SOUTH EASTERN Economic Development Corp. is celebrating 35 years of business at its annual meeting this year on Nov. 29, which will include the election of members, directors and officers as well as giving out awards for Regional Business Advocate of the Year, Startup Business of the Year and Small Business of the Year.

TAUNTON – The South Eastern Economic Development Corp., or SEED, is celebrating 35 years of business at its annual meeting this year.

The 2017 meeting is scheduled for Nov. 29, and will include an election of members, directors and officers.

The regional economic-development nonprofit specializes in making loans between $1,000 and $5.5 million in partnership with the U.S. Small Business Administration.

SBA Regional Administrator Mark S. Hayward, who also serves as the Rhode Island district director, is scheduled to speak at the meeting.

The nonprofit will also give out awards, including Regional Business Advocate of the Year, Startup Business of the Year and Small Business of the Year.
