SEG announces 2019 Food Accelerator cohort

PROVIDENCE – Social Enterprise Greenhouse announced the 2019 Food Accelerator cohort Tuesday.

The program will feature 17 food businesses, which started the program last week. The program will run for 12 weeks.

Participants will receive one-on-one business coaching, mentorship and access to SEG’s shared workspace at 10 Davol Square. Upon graduation, participants are given priority access to the SEG Loan Fund, which provides necessary growth capital, among other funds.

  • Boston Pita Café – A North Attleborough-based restaurant offering pita wraps, salads and rice bowls
  • Celebrated – A Providence-based, private vegan dessert studio
  • Deep Roots Farm – A pasture-based farm in Glocester
  • Dukho Farms Ltd. – A producer of organic food crops
  • Dune Brothers – A Providence-based, locally sourced seafood restaurant
  • EatWell Meal Kits – A Brookline, Mass.-based company offering healthy meal kits in low-income Boston metro neighborhoods
  • Fit Bites Bakery – A Massachusetts-based healthy dessert purveyor
  • FoodSCAPE – A nonprofit focused on providing healthy meals to Rhode Island schools and eliminating food waste through the distribution of food to the needy, or into compost or animal feed
  • goTeff – An impact trade company offering teff, a fine grain native to Ethiopia
  • Incred-A-Bowl – A Providence-based food truck offering rice bowls, noodle bowls, salads, soups and smoothies
  • Latino Beer and Wine Festival – The organization behind the annual Rhode Island festival
  • Mindful Maia’s Juice & Tea- A Rhode-Island based juice truck
  • Moor Food – A biointensive organic vegetable, herb and flower farm in Seekonk
  • Cloverbud Ranch – A Rhode Island-based operation offering grass-fed beef raised to meet humane, environmental and culinary standards
  • NovaPlate – A meal preparation company
  • Sweet Pea Farm – A Charlestown-based farm offering sustainably grown vegetables and cut flowers
  • The Oyster Wench’s Block Island Shellfish Farm – A company providing seaweed and shellfish raised on an aquaculture farm on Block Island
