Seven Stars leases in E.P. development

EAST PROVIDENCE – Developers of the Rumford Center, a 270,000-square-foot mixed-use development along Newman Avenue, Have announced that Providence’s Seven Stars Bakery has leased a 2,068-square-foot retail space in the building’s main building.

The bakery now has two retail locations in Providence, on Hope Street and Broadway, and bakes its products at Hope Artiste Village in Pawtucket.

At the Rumford Center, it will have a storefront on the first floor, under the main canopy of Building 3, the developers said in their Wednesday announcement. The building – a mixed-use structure that also includes residential and office space – fronts on both Newman Avenue and Greenwood Avenue.

The bakery buildout, now under way, is scheduled for completion in May. The transaction was handled by Providence-based Hayes & Sherry Real Estate Services, the developers said.

The $40 million Rumford Center is a collaboration between the East Providence-based Peregrine Group and Lincoln-based Kirkbrae Development Corp.

As of September, the development’s marketing manager, JLV Consulting, had announced agreements with tenants for 4,500 square feet of the center’s 6,000 total square feet of retail space. (READ MORE). Seven Stars, however, is the first tenant whose name has been announced.
