PROVIDENCE – The Business Innovation Factory will go real-time with this year’s collaborative summit, BIF-6; for the first time, there will be a live feed of the stage, real-time comments, video and audio, the organization announced Wednesday.
“This year, join the BIF-6 summit conversation even if you won’t be with us in Providence,” said BIF about its new portal that will offer full access to summit content. This year’s event already has sold out of tickets, priced between $1,200 and $1,500.
BIF, which describes itself as a community of innovators, is scheduled for Sept. 15 and 16 at Trinity Repertory Company in Providence. The event features about 30 speakers – or storytellers, in BIF parlance – including Fabien Cousteau, grandson of filmmaker and marine conservationist Jacques-Yves Cousteau, and Jason Fried, co-founder of the web-application company 37 signals.
Also new this year is BIF’s partnership with the celebrated Technology Entertainment Design conference. TED will serve as BIF’s online content partner, posting videos to its popular TED Talks website.
Richard Saul Wurman, creator of the TED summits and its medical spinoff TED Med, will appear again at this year’s BIF-6. He has been a regular attendee of the Rhode Island conference since its inception six years ago; first, as a host for two years and then as a speaker.
Wurman, author and self-proclaimed “information architect”, launched the now renowned TED summits in the early 1980s as a kind of think tank for intellectuals in the fields of technology, entertainment and design.
