WARWICK – In a Sept. 26 sale Boston-based Sonesta International Hotels Corp. purchased the former Residence Inn at 500 Kilvert Street in Warwick, according to a release by the hotel firm.

The firm would not disclose the amount it paid for the hotel, but said the facility would remain open throughout the transition.

The property, which has been re-branded as Sonesta ES Suites Providence-Airport or part of the company’s extended stay portfolio, is described as “convenient” to both T.F. Green Airport and Providence – according to Sonesta’s description of the hotel’s accommodations.

The website also promotes proximity to local corporations: “We are ideally situated for meetings at the Citizens Bank headquarters, Textron, United Natural Foods, Gilbane and more … business travelers often find themselves staying with us for our convenience and accessibility.”

Guests of Sonesta ES hotels enjoy one- and two-bedroom suites equipped with full kitchens, 24-hour fitness centers, complimentary high-speed Wi-Fi and on-site laundry.

As of the September release there are more than 40 Sonesta ES hotels in 23 states. The Warwick location is the sole Sonesta ES in Rhode Island.
