NEW BEDFORD – Southcoast Health has named Dr. Dani Hackner its new physician in chief for medicine.
Hackner is an intensivist and is board-certified in internal medicine, critical care and pulmonary medicine. He has significant experience as a senior physician leader. Most recently, Hackner served as vice president and chief medical officer for care management at Memorial Hermann Health System in Houston. Prior to his work at Memorial Hermann, he was medical director for case management at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.
In his new position, he will collaborate with health system leadership to lead Southcoast’s hospital-based clinical programs and specialty services within its Medicine Care Center. He will also devote a percentage of his time to active clinical practice.
