“Our firm is celebrating 140 years in business, and we take great pride in providing quality insurance products and excellent customer service; which aligns perfectly with the Wilsons’ rich family legacy,” said Starkweather & Shepley Chairman and CEO Larry Keefe.

Meanwhile, Starkweather & Shepley has opened an office in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., in partnership with the O’Neill & Co. Insurance Group.

The O’Neill Group is already located in Palm Beach Gardens and Kyle O’Neill, the firm’s founder and president, has been a strategic partner of Starkweather & Shepley since last July. O’Neill provides in-depth consulting for property and casualty insurance programs to help clients tailor their insurance needs.

“Since the inception of our partnership with Starkweather & Shepley, we’ve had tremendous success growing our clientele base and brand,” O’Neill said. “The resources, relationships and credibility that ‘S&S’ provides has opened doors to opportunities we may not have had otherwise. We’re excited to continue our strategic growth by bringing on new talent who thrive in an atmosphere of constant evolution and adaptation.”

Starkweather & Shepley, established in 1879 and held in trust since 1935 to ensure it remains privately held, provides commercial and personal insurance, health and employee benefits, surety bond and risk management services. Those services are provided nationally and internationally through its partnership with Assurex Global.

In addition to its East Providence headquarters and new Palm Beach Gardens office, the firm has branch offices in Westwood, Sturbridge, Sagamore Beach and Martha’s Vineyard in Massachusetts; Bristol, Pawcatuck and Shelton in Connecticut; Fort Myers, Fla.; and Virginia Beach, Va.
