Storti named head of Substance Use and Mental Health Leadership Council

WARWICK – Dr. Susan A. Storti, a healthcare administrator and addictive disorder treatment researcher, has been named president and CEO of the Substance Use and Mental Health Leadership Council (SUMHLC).

The Leadership Council is the main advocacy organization in Rhode Island representing agencies that provide mental health and addiction treatment, substance abuse prevention, primary health, and wellness services to more than 20,000 individuals annually.

Storti said she intends to further strengthen the core mission of the Council and accelerate a strategic shift to capitalize on emerging opportunities in the behavioral field, creating a more dynamic council.

“I want to ensure that the patient remains at the center of the decision-making process. This allows for the appropriate type of service to be rendered while ensuring that the service is at the correct intensity, and is delivered in the most appropriate setting,” she said.
