Summer Infant rings Nasdaq’s opening bell

NEW YORK – In honor of its recent listing on Nasdaq, Summer Infant Inc. (SUMR) was invited to host the stock market’s 9:30 a.m. opening ceremony today.

Jason Macari, Summer Infant’s CEO, rang the bell that started trading. He was accompanied by Steven Gibree, the executive vice president for product development, Dr. Marlene Krauss, the company’s chairman, and other executives and family members.

The bell-ringing ceremony “gives us an ideal platform to showcase our company to the investment community and our customers, and to recognize the hard work of the team that got us here,” Macari said in a statement yesterday, adding that becoming listed on the exchange is “another milestone” for the North Smithfield-based company.

Additional photos from the ceremony – held in Nasdaq’s MarketSite Times Square Studio, and broadcast live over the Internet and on the side of the seven-story Nasdaq Tower – can be viewed at www.nasdaq.com.
