ATTLEBORO – The Sun Chronicle is moving from a seven-day-a-week paper to a six-day-a-week paper, the Sun Chronicle announced on its website Wednesday.
The local daily is eliminating its Sunday edition and replacing it with a Saturday/Sunday weekend edition, reverting to a business model it operated nearly 28 years ago.

The paper expects to launch the weekend edition format Jan. 6. In the online story, the paper’s publisher, Jeffrey Peterson, said the weekend edition will allow for more opportunities for the paper’s advertisers and will have the feel of a magazine, while at the same time offering “enhanced news analysis and reporting, an expanded features section and a fresh take on local sports, among other improvements.”
The edition will be both print and digital.
Peterson was unavailable for comment at the time of publication.
