Survey: R.I. has high average wedding costs

PROVIDENCE – Rhode Island ranked as one of the most expensive places to get married in the country in a recent poll by TheKnot.com.

Rhode Island ranked No. 4 in the nation at $59,201. The rankings included a mix of states, cities and regions.

Manhattan, New York, ranked No. 1 in the survey at $96,910. Rhode Island’s average price ranked just head of Cape Cod, Mass., and behind Chicago.

The survey included 14,000 United States couples. The national average cost of weddings for those surveyed was $33,931. Here are the average costs for different parts of a wedding across the United States:
