WARWICK – There were 402,461 total passengers enplaned and deplaned at T.F. Green Airport in August, a 5.5 percent increase year over year from 381,544 in August 2017, according to R.I. Airport Corp. data.
Southwest Airlines accounted for the most passengers of all carriers at T.F. Green in August, at 143,750, 35.7 percent of all traffic.
American Airlines accounted for the second-most traffic in the month at 96,407 passengers, or 24 percent of all traffic.
Total cargo declined 2.8 percent year over year in August to 2.46 million pounds, from 2.54 million pounds one year prior, returning to levels before the sharp and brief influx of cargo shipping related to Amazon.com, a regional operation that has since been moved to Bradley International Airport in Hartford, Conn.
Year to date in August, there were 2.9 million total passengers enplaned and deplaned at T.F. Green, a 16.2 percent increase from 2.5 million passengers year to date in August 2017.
