Tech Collective announces Women in Technology info sessions

PROVIDENCE – Tech Collective, the state’s technology and bioscience industry association, will hold information sessions on Aug. 24 and Aug. 29 for professional women interested in participating in the 2017-18 Women in Technology mentor program.

The annual peer-to-peer program, first held in 2012, pairs experienced and up-and-coming professional women in the tech industry for opportunities to share networking tips and best practices, ask and answer questions, and offer advice and support.

This year, participants can choose to attend the fall 2017 cohort, the spring 2018 cohort, or both cohorts. Each cohort will run for four months; those who opt to attend both cohorts will participate for the full eight months.

The Women in Technology Committee pairs mentors and mentees based on self-evaluations of their professional and personal strengths and areas of desired growth. Major focuses of the 2017-18 program include time management, professional development, personal goal-setting, decision-making, career development and confidence-building.
