Tech Collective hosts diversity in tech design panel April 25

PROVIDENCE ­– Tech Collective is offering free admission to an April 25 session on “Integrating Diversity, Equity & Inclusion into Tech Product Design” at its 188 Valley St. location.

The panel discussion will delve into how social and cultural bias can present challenges in these days of mobile apps, artificial intelligence and virtual reality, and discuss ways to make inclusion an intentional part of product design.

Panel experts are: Banu Ozkazanc-Pan, a visiting associate professor of sociology at Brown University and a faculty member at the university’s center for entrepreneurship; Nina Chow, a project manager and business analyst at software company Kenzan in Providence; Claude Arnell Millhouse, co-founder and CEO of CareerDevs Computer Science Academy in Providence; and Dawn Russell, lead user experience designer at Upserve.
